With nearly 25 years of experience in healthcare as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), a Client Care Manager (CCM), and a Family Caregiver, Nicole Lady brings deep knowledge and compassion to her role as Associate Director of Client Care for our Central Pennsylvania office. She shared recently her about her journey to JEVS Care at Home, what she loves about her work, and what makes JEVS different from other homecare agencies.
Tell us about your experience in homecare and how you came to work for JEVS Care at Home.
When my grandmother needed in-home care, my family had trouble finding a company that could give her the support she needed. That’s when my mom decided to open her own homecare business. I left my job at a nursing facility to care for my grandmother full-time.
After a few years, when she got better, I moved into the office as a Client Care Manager. I spent the next several years learning how the business works and eventually became Associate Director.
In 2021, my mom was ready to retire. She wanted to find a company that shared her values. After meeting with several groups, she finally found the right fit with the JEVS Care at Home team. They had the drive, heart, and dedication she was looking for. I officially joined JEVS in January 2022.
What are your responsibilities as Associate Director of Client Care?
I do a little bit of everything. I meet with new clients and help create their Plans of Care. I help with scheduling, caregiver training, and in-the-field support. I also attend local events and work with other organizations in our community.
In the office, I assist with hiring, payroll, and client paperwork when needed. Our team works closely together. We’re always ready to step in and help wherever it’s needed to make sure our clients get the best care.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I love working with our team and meeting new people. I enjoy building strong, long-term relationships with our clients and their families, and I’ve learned so much from their stories.
I also love connecting with caregivers—especially those who, like me, have spent many years in healthcare. It’s rewarding to train them and share my passion for this work. And knowing that we’re helping people stay safely in their homes—that’s the best part.
How is JEVS Care at Home different from other providers?
We treat our clients like we would treat our own family. Our team in Central Pennsylvania has strong healthcare backgrounds, so we understand what our clients need and can answer their questions with care.
We’re hands-on. We show up in person to support new caregivers during their first shifts. We’re also great at communicating, so clients and caregivers know we’re always here to help.
What do you enjoy doing outside the office?
I love being outside—fishing, walking, and riding my motorcycle.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
I’d love to fly! It would save money on gas and help me avoid all the road construction.
Anything else you’d like to share?
I have three amazing children, all over 18 now, and I’m a huge Philadelphia Eagles fan!
