JEVS at Home was chosen as a winner for SmartCEO’s 2017 Future 50 Award. An award that is given to 50 of the region’s fastest growing, mid-sized companies chosen based on a three-year average of employee and revenue growth.
JEVS at Home is a subsidiary of JEVS Human Services, a nonprofit that serves the Philadelphia region. For individuals who don’t want to enter a nursing home, JEVS at Home provides long-term, non-medical care at home. “More and more people are choosing to remain in their homes, close to family and friends, rather than go into a nursing home. Our services make that happen,” says CEO Aurora Kripa. The organization serves individuals who are part of a home and community-based services waiver program, and is able to build further on relationships already formed through JEVS Human Services, allowing people to remain a part of the JEVS family.
“No one can ever do it alone. It takes a good, strong team and support system to succeed in business and in life,” Kripa said. JEVS at Home has found success through teamwork. When the organization first started offering home care, it expected to work with no more than 250 clients, but within a couple of weeks, more than 1,000 people had come to JEVS for its care services. “We knew we had to act fast and hire people quickly, set up systems, move to a larger space and more,” says Kripa. “I found that breaking things down into small steps and delegating them out to my staff with a kind and positive attitude was the best approach.” Now, the company is set to continue its mission of helping more people remain independent in their homes and community.
