Caregiving can be a financial burden for seniors or those living with a disability. Finding the financial resources can be hard and stressful. Fortunately, Medicaid and JEVS at Home can help.
Medicaid funding is available to individuals requiring home and community-based services who have limited financial resources. Medicaid pays for these services through multiple programs called “Waivers.” These waivers include home and community-based services to seniors and disabled people who require a nursing facility level of care but prefer to live in their own homes to receive care.
Each person’s level of need and the ability to pay for service determines their waiver eligibility. Several waivers are available and include the Aging Waiver, Attendant Care/Act150 Waiver, Independence Waiver, OBRA Waiver, and Commcare Waiver.
